Springfield UMC Mission Trip Report
Honduras Mission Team

Springfield

Fifteen members of the Springfield United Methodist Church traveled to Honduras during the week of May 19 – 26, 2006. The primary purpose of the trip was to go and help in the construction of homes for families. One can never put into words the blessing this year’s team received by going and serving as the hands and feet of Christ in the lives of others. Needless to say, members of this year’s team were touched and changed in a mighty and powerful way.

Prior to our departure and during the week while in Honduras we were reminded to continually serve as “a light on a hill” in the lives of individuals that we came in contact with. We never realized how much God was going to move in the lives of people. Because of the sacrifice, humbleness, and obedience of the our team, lives were changed for eternity because of the work that Jesus was able to do through fifteen people who allowed themselves to be used for His honor and glory.

Much work was completed on the two homes that we began working on and many children were served, taught and loved on during a time of Bible school. Again, for us, it was a privilege to be able to serve alongside Steve and Hope as they continue to share the “good news” of Jesus Christ through their work with Mission on the Move in Honduras. But, most of all, it is wonderful to know that God is still in the business of changing peoples lives and drawing them into a loving relationship with Himself. No matter where you are or where you may go, God uses those who “let His light shine”! It is wonderful to know that two families and many children know Jesus in a different way because of the work members of the Springfield UMC Mission Team did in the name of Jesus.

For Christ Alone,
Chance Ward
