First UMC Houston Mission Trip Report

This past June we took 28 high school students and leaders to Honduras to work with Mission On The Move in
Los Pinos and Santa Ellena. This trip was a life changing experience for our students. The country is beautiful, the people are hungry for God and the opportunities are endless. We laid cement floors in houses, dug trenches for plumbing, lead evangelistic concerts in local churches, organized Vacation Bible school for young children, played soccer with the teenagers, went on prayer walks and distributed food to needy familes, praying for their needs. We were humbled by their hospitality and openness, even in their poverty.
The leadership of the MOM Honduras staff, Steve, Hope and Ernesto, was excellent. The organizational structure and strategy of the ministry is providing great transformation in the area. Our students and adults were very moved by the friendships we built with the indigenous people and we look forward to returning next summer to continue to be a part of what God is doing in Honduras through MOM.
